School-Based Outpatient Therapy
School-Based Outpatient Therapy is a mental health service which provides counseling to children and adolescents within their home school. Ponessa Behavioral Health licenses the school to provide quality, professional and convenient services at the location where children spend a great deal of their day.
All school-aged children and adolescents can benefit from a non-judgmental clinician who will listen to the student, collaborate, and empower them to make changes in their life. Parents, teachers, school counselors and principals also know when children/adolescents are just not feeling right. They may be feeling very tired, eating more or less than normal, having difficulty concentrating, feeling irritable, or just going through changes in their lives that they need someone to talk with. That's where school-based outpatient services comes into play. We can help students get back into the swing of life!
Treatment concerns include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Divorce
- Self-Esteem
- Grief & Loss
- Bullying

- Personality Disorders
- Drug & Alcohol Issues
- Physical/Sexual/Emotional Abuse

School-Based Outpatient Therapy provides traditional therapy in a non-traditional setting. It allows for the student to be seen without interrupting their educational classes. Ponessa Behavioral Health works with the school personnel to ensure that children remain in their core educational classes but can be seen during times that are most conducive to a child's school day. In addition, the parents/caregivers can be assured that their child is receiving the counseling they need without adding additional time commitments to their already busy schedules.
