Since joining York Academy in 2015, Dr. Michael Lowe has played a pivotal role in the school's growth and success. Under his leadership, York Academy has expanded its programs and facilities, while always keeping students' well-being, safety, and education at the forefront.
Dr. Lowe is deeply involved in student life and is known for his approachable nature. Whether greeting students in the hallways, attending events, or simply stopping to chat during the school day, he makes it a priority to be present and accessible. His genuine care and dedication inspire trust among students, families, and staff alike.
Beyond York Academy, Dr. Lowe is an active leader in the York community. He has served on numerous boards and organizations, including the Boy Scouts, York Extension Services, the Council of Churches, and the York County Community Foundation, Rotary, and the York Art Association.
Dr. Lowe’s leadership philosophy is rooted in service. He is passionate about guiding York Academy forward in partnership with the Board of Trustees, faculty, and staff, always keeping the mission and vision of the school at the center of his work.
