PTO

The York Academy PTO is a parent-run organization that works closely with school staff. Parents are welcome to join or attend meetings anytime throughout the year. Everyone is welcome! They help fund field trips, family fun nights, assemblies, classroom supplies and more. The York Academy PTO's objectives are to:

  • Promote the welfare of the children in our schools. Improve conditions for children in school and the community.

  • Bring about a closer relationship between parents/guardians and teachers so that they can work together in helping the children become outstanding citizens in the community.

  •  Secure the best advantages of physical, academic, and social education for each child.

Meet the PTO


PTO Dress Down Days are held on the first Friday of each month. With a $1.00 donation, students and staff may wear the (school appropriate) attire of their choosing. Click here to view the Dress Code (see page 2). All proceeds will fund family fun nights, classroom supplies, teacher appreciation activities, and more.

During the 2023-24 school year, the PTO worked hard to support and bring families together, and to uplift our amazing employees.  We are extremely thankful for their time, enthusiasm, and thoughtfulness! Here are some of the activities and events they coordinated: 

  • Trunk or Treat (record attendance!)

  • Events at Keystone Kidspace, Chuck E. Cheese, Panera & Roll 'R' Way

  • Lunch for our employees during Student-Led Conferences

  • The Uniform Swap for parents

  • A virtual Food Drive to support the York County Food Bank

  • York Academy Night with the Revolution

  • Field Day t-shirts for all students and staff (both buildings)

  • Knights for Pints Parents Social in June at Gift Horse

  • Various kind gestures and small gifts of appreciation for teachers and staff throughout the year and during Teacher Appreciation Week
