York Academy Regional Charter School is a tuition-free public school in downtown York. As the only International Baccalaureate (IB) school in the region, and one of just three in Pennsylvania, we provide a rigorous, well-rounded education that prepares students for college, careers, and life. 

Through the prestigious IB Programme, students develop the ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and connect their learning to the world around them. These skills help them understand complex subjects, evaluate different viewpoints, build stronger arguments, and communicate their ideas more clearly and confidently. 

York Academy students also complete college-level coursework and earn credits through the IB Programme, giving them a head start on their degrees. As a result, our graduates are consistently accepted into prestigious colleges and universities. 

Since opening in 2011, York Academy has grown steadily, with strong enrollment and a waiting list each year. Nearly all of our graduates continue their education, many earning impressive scholarships, and leave as confident leaders prepared to make a difference in their communities and beyond.

York Academy is a tuition-free public charter school open to all Pennsylvania residents. There are no academic or testing requirements for admission. Enrollment is determined through an annual lottery process.
