•  A respect and appreciation of people from different cultures, religions, ethnic groups, and socioeconomic backgrounds
•  An intrinsic desire to always strive to meet the high expectations they have set for themselves no matter what their goals
•  The confidence to pursue their dreams

The York Academy Regional Charter School is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. We are proud to be the only school in York County - and one of two in Pennsylvania - authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years (K-6), Middle Years (7-10) and Diploma Programmes (11 & 12). The Diploma Programme is respected and recognized among the world’s higher education institutions. For students, success in the IB often results in advanced standing, course credit, scholarships, and other admissions related benefits at many universities.

International Baccalaureate Mission & Vision

IB World Schools share a common philosophy - a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of an inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high-quality programs of international education that share a powerful vision.

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
