MISSION
With an unrelenting focus on academic excellence, the York Academy Regional Charter School challenges students in a diverse learning environment that opens doors for growth, opportunity and global citizenship.
VISION
The students of the York Academy Regional Charter School will experience an extraordinary education program through:
• An individualized academic experience, shaped by a transdisciplinary approach that challenges and prepares them to effectively advance to the next stage of life
• A respect and appreciation of people from different cultures, religions, ethnic groups and socioeconomic backgrounds
• An intrinsic desire to always strive to meet the high expectations they have set for themselves no matter what their goals
• The confidence to pursue their dreams
The York Academy Regional Charter School is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. We are proud to be the only school in York County - and one of two in Pennsylvania - authorized to offer the Primary Years (K-6), Middle Years (7-10) and Diploma Programmes (11 & 12). The Diploma Programme is respected and recognized among the world’s higher education institutions. For students, success in the IB often results in advanced standing, course credit, scholarships and other admissions related benefits at many universities.
INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE MISSION & VISION
IB World Schools share a common philosophy - a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of an inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programs of international education that share a powerful vision.
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
