Imagine learning about rainforests by walking through one, studying wildlife in its natural habitat, or experiencing a new culture firsthand. At York Academy, learning doesn't stop when the school day ends, or even at the classroom door. As a York Academy student, you'll have the opportunity to participate in unforgettable educational travel experiences that bring your learning to life. Through student fundraising, family support, and assistance from the York Academy Foundation, these trips become accessible to many students who want to explore the world beyond York.
Recent graduates have traveled to Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands and, most recently, to Costa Rica, where they explored breathtaking ecosystems, discovered new cultures, and gained a deeper understanding of what it means to be a global citizen. These experiences are inspired by the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy, encouraging you to think beyond your own community, appreciate different perspectives, and make meaningful connections with the world around you. The memories you'll make, the friendships you'll strengthen, and the experiences you'll gain are the kinds of opportunities that stay with you long after graduation.
