Through the rest of the 2022-2023 school year, York Academy will be able to serve students a school breakfast at no charge. This change is only applicable to the School Breakfast Program and does not affect a student’s eligibility status for lunch (free, reduced, and paid, respectively). It is a result of Governor Wolf's plan to provide universal free school breakfast for 1.7 million students across the commonwealth. This only applies for the 2022-23 school year.
If your family receives SNAP benefits from the commonwealth, your students will be Directly Certified. You do not need to fill out an application for Free and Reduced Meals. York Academy will notify you of your free meal benefit. This information is updated in our system weekly through Compass.
If you do not receive any assistance, click below to complete a Free & Reduced Meal Application.

Please note that only one application should be completed per family. The information you provide will be used to determine or prove your child's eligibility for free or reduced price meals. These details may also be used for other state or federally funded school benefits.
Factors considered are household size and total household income:
• Household Size = All persons (related/unrelated), including parents, children, grandparents, etc. who live in your home and share living expenses
• Total Household Income = The income that each person in your home received last month before taxes - including wages, social security, pension, unemployment, welfare, child support, alimony and any other cash income
Foster children are categorically eligible for free meal benefits. An application is not needed yet since there needs to be documentation of status by a state or local entity familiar with the child's status. Foster children may be included in the household application as part of the household size.
If you would prefer a paper application, please email Regina Arnold at [email protected] and she will mail it to you.
