The Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a school-based support team designed to help students who may be experiencing barriers to learning. These barriers can include emotional concerns, mental health struggles, stress, family difficulties, substance use, peer conflicts, or behavioral challenges. Teachers, parents, counselors, or students themselves may request support through SAP. Once a referral is made, the team works with the student and family to identify concerns and connect them with appropriate school or community resources. SAP does not diagnose or provide therapy, but it helps families access the support they may need. The goal of SAP is to ensure students receive help early so they can remain healthy, engaged, and successful in school.
