Pre-College Fly-in Programs

Explore Selective Colleges Through Free Fly-In Programs

Fly-in programs offer low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students the opportunity to visit highly selective colleges, for free.

These fully funded experiences remove common barriers to college exploration by covering transportation, housing, meals, and campus activities. Students stay in residence halls, attend classes, connect with current students and professors, and experience campus life firsthand.

Fly-in programs also help students:

  • Learn about the college admissions process
  • Understand financial aid opportunities
  • Explore resources available to support student success
  • Gain confidence applying to competitive colleges

Many of the colleges featured—especially those in the NESCAC (New England Small College Athletic Conference)—meet 100% of demonstrated financial need for admitted students, making them more affordable than many families expect. In some cases, attending one of these institutions may cost a family the same—or less—than attending a public four-year university.

These programs can be transformative experiences that help students see selective colleges as accessible, attainable, and within reach. Students interested in applying to highly selective institutions are also encouraged to explore pre-college summer programs, which may strengthen college applications and increase exposure to competitive schools.
