COVID-19 Hub

We are committed to keeping our YARCS family in the know. This page serves as our COVID-19 Hub and will be updated regularly. You can also view our Daily Dashboard below.

Updated on March 4, 2022:

hroughout the pandemic, our COVID-19 Safe Return Committee has worked behind the scenes to keep our school community as safe as possible. This committee is comprised of parents, and members of our staff and Board of Trustees. Yesterday, the committee met and agreed to continue to follow CDC guidance regarding masking.

Beginning on Monday, March 7, masks will be optional for all students, staff, parents and visitors. This decision is based on the fact that York County currently falls within the low community level according to new CDC data.

If your children feel safer wearing masks at school, they are welcomed and encouraged to do so. Please talk with them over the weekend and make the best choice for your family.

I ask that you continue to monitor your children for COVID-19 symptoms using our Daily Screening Tool and keep them home if they are sick.

Please note that masking may be required if there is a positive case or known exposure, and our nurses will contact families individually. As always, make sure to notify them of any COVID-related concerns. Our nurses will also continue to offer free testing at school, as needed.

The Safe Return Committee will continue to monitor state and federal guidance, and local data. If York County experiences an increase in community level, mitigation efforts will be implemented for the safety of our York Academy family.

We can't wait to seeing your wonderful children's smiling faces again!

As with all vaccinations, if your child received the COVID-10 vaccine, please take a picture of their card with your phone and email it to Ms. Halloran (K-6) or Mrs. Urey (7-12) for our records.

Thank you for "unknighting" in the fight against COVID at York Academy. Your ongoing support has been deeply appreciated.
