Ms. Waninger’s Class!

Hi! My name is Kelley Waninger, and I have been teaching first grade at York Academy since the first year we opened. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina and a Master’s Degree in Early Literacy from Cambridge College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I was born here in Pennsylvania but moved to South Carolina when I was nine months old, so I was raised a southern girl! After teaching for eleven years in South Carolina, I moved back here seven years ago to be closer to my family. I have a wonderful eight year old son named Cole, who is a second grader here at York Academy! It’s such a joy to watch him grow and learn, just as it is with the first graders in my classroom each day.  I enjoy working closely with our awesome students, our outstanding staff, and our fantastic parents to make our school the wonderful place it is!
